Finish the Comic Activity - Printable activity that encourages creativity, storytelling, problem-solving, and self-expression in a simple, open-ended format. Each comic begins with two illustrated story panels that introduce a situation. The remaining four panels are left blank so participants can decide what happens next.
Participants can complete the story by drawing pictures, writing dialogue, adding captions, or telling their ideas aloud while a staff member writes them down. There is no single correct ending, which makes the activity easy to adapt for different communication, cognitive, writing, and fine-motor ability levels.
These pages can be used independently, during small-group activities, as a one-to-one activity, or as conversation starters. Staff can also use the completed comics to encourage discussion about choices, humor, memories, emotions, problem-solving, and imagination.
This bundle includes a variety of Finish the Comic story starters featuring everyday objects, animals, simple mysteries, humor, and imaginative situations. Each US Letter-size printable page includes a bold FINISH THE COMIC! heading, a story title, two illustrated starter panels, four blank panels for completing the story, and the instruction: “Continue the story by drawing or writing what happens next.”

For participants who need more support, ask simple questions such as, “What do you think happens next?” “Where could it go?” “What might be inside?” “How could the problem be solved?” or “What would make the ending funny?”
