Fruit & Vegetable Bingo for Seniors — 58 foods, 25 unique printable bingo cards, and 58 call cards with clues and conversation starters. Instant download, print as many copies as you like.
Fifty-eight fruits and vegetables, each printed with its name underneath, so nobody has to guess what they're looking at. Strawberries, corn, watermelon and green beans, but also okra, bok choy, lychee, celery root, dragon fruit and kale — the everyday and the ones that get a second look. Written for older adults, not for a classroom.
**Fifty-eight items means the game keeps changing.**
Most picture bingo sets run on twenty or thirty pictures, so the cards start to feel alike by the third time you play. This one draws on 58, and no two of the 25 cards share more than a handful of squares. It stays fresh over a whole season on the activity calendar.
**What makes it different: the call cards talk back.**
Every call card has a short riddle for the facilitator to read aloud, and underneath it a question about the player's own life:
*GREEN BEANS — "Snapped by hand into a bowl, one end and then the other."*
**Talk about it:** Did you snap beans as a child? Where did you sit to do it?
That second line is the whole point. A quiet room turns into a room describing the orange in the Christmas stocking, whose mother boiled the cauliflower to death, the blackberry patch down the fence line, and the summer the neighbors wouldn't stop leaving squash on the doorstep.
**It's also a naming exercise.**
Naming familiar objects is standard language work, and the facilitator guide says it plainly: if someone can't find the word, describe the picture and let them get there — don't supply it too quickly. That makes this useful in speech and occupational therapy sessions, not only on the activity calendar.
**And you can put this one on the table.**
Food is the rare theme you can pass around — a plate of orange slices, a bowl of grapes, carrot sticks. That turns twenty minutes of bingo into a sensory session. Check diabetic diets and swallowing precautions with your nurse first; the guide reminds you to.
**No season, any week of the year.**
No holiday attached. Print it in February or in July; it plays the same.
**WHAT YOU GET — one PDF, 36 pages, US Letter 8.5 x 11**
* 25 bingo cards, every one a different arrangement — verified, no duplicates, so no two players bingo on the same call
* 58 facilitator call cards, 6 to a page, with cut lines — picture, clue, and memory question
* 1 facilitator guide page: what you'll need, how to play, four game variations (Four Corners, Postage Stamp, Blackout, Short Game), and notes for a mixed group
**ALREADY HAVE MY FRUIT OR VEGETABLE SETS?**
Then you'll recognize the call cards — they're the same 58 pictures and clues. What's new here are the boards: they're built from the whole 58-item pool, so they don't repeat either set. If you're choosing just one, this is the one with the most variety in it.
**PERFECT FOR**
Assisted living and memory care · senior centers and adult day programs · nursing home activity calendars · speech and occupational therapy sessions · nutrition and dietitian programs · hospice and volunteer visits
**HOW IT WORKS**
1. Buy and download — the PDF is in your Etsy downloads immediately
2. Print at home or at a copy shop. Print at 100% / "actual size," not "fit to page"
3. Cut the call cards apart, hand out the boards, and use pennies, dried beans, dried corn, or bingo chips as markers
**PLEASE NOTE**
This is a digital download. No physical product will be mailed to you. You'll need a PDF reader (Adobe Reader is free) and a printer, or a copy shop. Colors may vary slightly from screen to print.
