If you run a men's club, a gentlemen's coffee group, or you're the one who gets asked every month what you're doing for the male residents — this is it. Every call card tells you the answer, and the name is printed on the square in big clear type. Read the clue, let them shout, hold up the picture. That's the whole job, and the facilitator guide says so on the first page.

**What makes it different: the call cards talk back.**

Every one of the 33 call cards has a short clue to read aloud, and underneath it a question about his own life:

*BOBBER — "Red on top, white underneath. Watch me — and when I go under, you pull."*

 **Talk about it:** Who taught you to fish? How old were you?

That second line is the whole point. A man who hasn't said much all month will talk for ten minutes about the biggest fish he ever caught, the night a bear came into camp, or the dog that was better at it than he was. **The bingo is the excuse. The stories are the activity.**

**It puts the men back in charge of the room.**

In most activities the residents are the ones being helped. Not here. Here they're the ones who know — which lake, which season, what the dog was called — and you're the one being corrected. Being the expert in the room for twenty minutes is worth more to these men than any craft project on the calendar. Let them correct you. That's the design.

**A note for facilitators**

Two of the cards show a shotgun and a bow, and one shows crosshairs — ordinary hunting gear, nothing more. In most rooms that's completely unremarkable. If your facility has a policy on weapon imagery, or there's a resident for whom it isn't right, just pull those cards before you start; the game plays perfectly well without them, and the guide says so too.
