**Talk about it:** Ever run out? How far did you have to walk, and who did you flag down?

That second line is the whole point. A man who hasn't said much all month will talk for ten minutes about his first car, the engine he pulled in somebody's driveway, or the winter he drove a truck with no heater. **The bingo is the excuse. The stories are the activity.**

**It puts the men back in charge of the room.**

In most activities the residents are the ones being helped. Not here. Here they're the ones who know, and you're the one being corrected — and being the expert in the room for twenty minutes is worth more to a retired machinist or a man who ran his own shop than any craft project on the calendar. Let them correct you. That's the design.
